International Robotic Tournament

International Robotic Tournament

We are pleased to announce that in cooperation with Automation Trader - Technical School in Rybnik, organized the annual Robotic Tournament. This time, 332 robots from 42 Polish and foreign cities came to "Tygel". Machine owners competed in 15 competitions:

LineFollower - the task of Linefollower robots is to travel the designated route in the shortest possible time.

LineFollower Enhanced - robot's job is to ride the route with the best time possible. There are obstacles on the route.

LineFollower for lego - the robot's task is the same as in the "LineFollower" category, only the robot must be built of Lego.

LineFollower Enhanced for lego - the task of the robot is the same as in the LineFollower category, only that there are obstacles on the route, and the robot must be built of LEGO.

Sumo - robots of this category are fully autonomous units, which means that they are not controlled by man in any way. The dimensions of the bases of these robots can not exceed 20cm x 20cm, and the weight is limited to 3kg.

MiniSumo - the rules are the same as in sumo, the limit is a robot not exceeding the size of 10cm x 10cm, and the weight of 500 grams.

MicroSumo - the same rules as in sumo, the limit is a robot not exceeding the dimensions 50mm x 50mm, and the weight of 100 grams.

NanoSumo - the same rules as in sumo, the limit is a robot not exceeding 25mm x 25mm, and a weight of 25 grams.

Sumo for lego - rules like in sumo, the robot's construction must be based on the central unit of the Lego Mindstorm set.

MiniSumo for lego - principles such as in sumo, the robot's construction must be based on the central unit of the Lego Mindstorm set, the limitation is a robot not exceeding the size of 15cm x 15cm and the weight of 1kg

MicroMouse - the robot should find its way out of the labyrinth.

RoboDragRace - it's nothing but a "robotic" version of the parallel race on ¼ mile.

RoboDragRace for lego - it's nothing more than a "robotic" version of the parallel race on ¼ mile.

Freestyle - is a category of robots whose name is its entire definition. There are no restrictions here. This is a category in which one can demonstrate robotic creativity and show various, often crazy constructions.

We admired not only the impressive designs struggling in various competitions, but we could also look carefully at the work of their owners. The vast majority of tournament competition required participants to bring hand-built robots that could be freely modified and programmed in specially prepared service zones. The competition has also become an opportunity to exchange experiences and make new acquaintances.

The aim of the tournament was to interest robotics and modern technologies by designing, building and programming an autonomous robot. The players, while designing the robot, used knowledge in the field of mechanics, electrics and electronics
and computer science, as well as selected issues in physics and mathematics. The condition of success was
and there is solid electronic knowledge, creativity and the ability to program processors.
