Description

The Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-UFC-EX1.D is a 1-channel isolated barrier designed for intrinsic safety applications. It converts digital input signals into proportional, freely adjustable 0/4 mA to 20 mA analog output signals, functioning as both a switch amplifier and a trip alarm. The device supports input frequencies ranging from 1 mHz to 5 kHz and is compatible with NAMUR sensors or dry contacts. It offers two relay outputs and one potential-free transistor output, all easily configurable via a keypad or the PACTware configuration software. The KFD2-UFC-EX1.D is certified up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 according to IEC/EN 61508 and IEC/EN 61511 standards, ensuring reliable performance in safety-critical environments. Key features include line fault detection (LFD), start-up override, and a collective error message output. The device operates within a supply voltage range of 20 to 30 V DC and has a power consumption of up to 2.2 W. Its compact design allows for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail, with dimensions of 40 x 119 x 115 mm and a weight of approximately 300 grams.
