Fear of artificial intelligence is growing. The White House calls for a crisis meeting

Artificial intelligence is a field that is constantly evolving and gaining popularity. Many believe - not without reason - that this technology can change the world, but at the same time, it carries a number of risks that we do not fully understand yet.

That is why the US government has decided to invite the heads of the largest companies involved in artificial intelligence - OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic - to the White House to discuss the threats arising from the development of this technology.

Meeting of giants

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and the entire Alphabet holding company, Sam Altman, head of OpenAI, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Dario Amodei of Anthropic have been invited to Washington to participate in a specially organized meeting on artificial intelligence.

The topic of the discussions was to be the threats associated with the development of this technology, such as privacy violations, fraud, and disinformation campaigns. Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris or Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor, were also expected to attend the meeting.

It is worth noting that the topic of artificial intelligence has recently stirred up a lot of emotions not only in the United States but also around the world. The Biden administration has decided to allocate $140 million to launch seven special research institutes dedicated to artificial intelligence.

This is just the beginning

However, it is important to remember that even though we are excited today about AI that processes texts, produces graphics, or entire high-quality films, it is only the tip of the iceberg of its possibilities.

Artificial intelligence already leaves its mark on industry, technology, medicine, or finally, big politics, and this impact will only grow. It is no wonder that we need essential knowledge about the risks associated with it. Future governments will invest in the development of AI, but they must also be aware that it can be used for not necessarily positive purposes.
