High-tech robots get into the game

Yaskawa Electric has unveiled a new generation of industrial robots, Motoman Next, which use the Wind River Linux operating system and Nvidia Jetson Orin modules.

Without the human factor

These high-tech robots are equipped with autonomous adaptive capabilities and decision-making functions supported by artificial intelligence. Thanks to the use of Nvidia Jetson Orin, Motoman Next can perform complex tasks in unstructured environments, which previously - as one can easily guess - required human supervision.

As for the Wind River Linux system, which acts as the control unit, it enables advanced functions such as obstacle avoidance and sorting of objects with different properties. This is a significant step forward in the field of industrial automation, demonstrating how the integration of modern technology can increase the efficiency and flexibility of robots.

Big breakthrough

Thanks to the collaboration between Wind River and Nvidia, the platform for industrial robots is becoming more advanced, offering scalable AI solutions at the edge. Motoman Next symbolises the future of robotics, where machines will be able to operate in a more autonomous and intelligent way, adapting to dynamic production conditions.

This innovative approach to industrial robotics opens up new opportunities for automation engineers, enabling more complex applications that were previously beyond the reach of traditional systems. Integration with Wind River Linux and Nvidia Jetson Orin provides a solid foundation for future robotics and AI implementations in industry.
