Industrial Robots on the rise

There's no turning back from this path. Collaborative robots are pushing their way forward, and it's clear that by 2032, they will account for over 20 percent of total industrial robot sales.

Collaborative robots, or cobots, could have already reached that mark today, but two significant variables have hindered their progress - the ongoing months-long pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

There will be more robots

Interact Analysis predicts that the robot market will grow at a rate of around 20 percent annually until 2032, with much faster growth in the Asia-Pacific region and both Americas. The EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), on the other hand, is expected to develop at a slightly slower pace.

According to the mentioned report, by 2027, EMEA will only achieve a robot sales share of 22.4 percent, compared to 25.8 percent for both Americas and 28.2 percent for the Asia-Pacific region.

Will this trend continue?

"It's fascinating to observe how the field of applications for collaborative robots is expanding. Maintaining this trend will be a key factor in the future growth of the market," said Maya Xiao, who leads the research team at Interact Analysis.

Cobots are now making their mark in an increasing number of industries. It's not just the logistics sector; they are also being utilized in fields such as medicine, education, manufacturing, and even gastronomy.

"The deployment of cobots in sectors such as education, medicine, logistics, gastronomy, and retail is growing wider due to the development of vision software and machine learning," added Xiao.
