This module integrates advanced CNC control, PLC functionality, and industrial communication interfaces into a single compact unit, making it ideal for complex machining tasks in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering. Equipped with an Intel Core 2 T7400 processor and dedicated memory for NC, PLC, and system functions, the NCU delivers deterministic performance even in demanding production environments. The integrated PLC 317-3 PN/DP logic enables automation and process control without additional hardware. Flexible connectivity via PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP ensures seamless integration into existing industrial networks. The twin fan module maintains optimal thermal performance for continuous operation. As of January 2023, this product has entered its phase-out stage and is now available only as a spare part. Siemens recommends newer NCUs, such as NCU 720.5 or NCU 730.5, for modern installations, but spare parts and service remain accessible for legacy systems.
