The Mitsubishi MR-J3-20A is a high-performance AC servo amplifier from the MELSERVO-J3 series, designed for precise motion control in industrial automation applications. Operating at a rated output power of 200W, it accepts a 200–240 VAC single-phase or three-phase power supply at 50/60 Hz. The amplifier delivers a continuous output current of 1.5 A and a maximum output current of 4.5 A, suitable for driving compatible servo motors such as the Mitsubishi HC-KFS23, HC-MFS23, and HG-KR23 models. It features a pulse train input interface, accepting position command pulses via open-collector or differential RS-422A inputs at up to 4 Mpps, with the pulse count interpreted as a position command and pulse frequency as speed command. The MR-J3-20A utilizes a 17-bit multi-turn absolute encoder with a resolution of 131,072 pulses per revolution, ensuring accurate position feedback. Built-in features include a dynamic brake and a natural cooling structure, with an operating temperature range from 0°C to 55°C. The amplifier's dimensions are 40 mm in width, 150 mm in height, and 138 mm in depth, with a weight of approximately 0.8 kg. Note that the MR-J3-20A has been superseded by the MR-J4-20A model, which offers enhanced features such as a 22-bit encoder and built-in safety functions.
