How to minimize losses during the crisis caused by the global coronavirus pandemic in UR departments?

Industry is currently facing many of the problems caused by the Covid-19 virus. The effects of the epidemic can be very difficult to predict - especially over a long period of time. In the current situation, it is worth taking steps to ensure continuity of production. First of all, remember to ensure proper functioning of supplies. With a functioning supply chain, we can be sure of uninterrupted production. An important aspect to protect us from problems is to ensure appropriate maintenance. It is difficult to predict the strategies that manufacturing companies will adopt. However, historical data related to the crisis in 2008 show that companies will definitely more often use machine servicing instead of investing in new equipment. The supply on the market of used or factory refurbished components may not be sufficient to meet all needs. This can lead to price increases and accessibility problems. It should also be remembered that service of damaged components in such a situation will be extended in time.

How to prevent a crisis due to maintenance.

In our opinion, the best way to minimize risk is to get strategic components now. Having a good spare parts supplier, we can provide a full list of components and in the case of large orders negotiate high discounts. Having the right components in the reserve will reduce the stress of the company due to its temporary shortages on the market (we wrote about this phenomenon on our blog). The purchase of components in this way can be treated as investments. The ideal situation is to have all strategic components for replacement. Additional advantages resulting from such a strategy are much better possibilities of searching for parts in the future. If there are no emergency situations in our plant due to a lack of components, we have much more time to look for cheaper component deliveries. This action allows you to significantly reduce the cost of obtaining equipment.
