Lies and half-truth about components after regeneration. Mythbusters in action!

Lies and half-truth about components after regeneration. Mythbusters in action!

You have a problem? The production line in your plant is standing, and you feel the unpleasant breath of impending losses on your back? At this point, you have to act quickly and decisively, choosing solutions that many would look at with disgust, or at least a little fear.

We are talking about scenarios in which you have to import components from outside the catalog of the completely new ones. Many entrepreneurs, hearing about parts or entire devices after remanufacturing, make big eyes and wonder where the catch is, and mistakenly believe that they may receive an old and worn thing that will not meet the appropriate standards. So it's time to take this regeneration under the microscope and check which myths are true and which should be classified as half-truths or even lies.

MYTH 1: DOES REGENERATION MEAN ONLY CLEANING A USED COMPONENT?

That would not be true. In fact, if someone presented such a thesis, they would not be even close to the truth. Regeneration is a much more complex process that involves the complete renovation of a given component or device. In this case, the scale of works to be performed is much larger. Some of them are completely regenerated, while in the case of more complex devices, they do not only mention the things that require it.

Here we take care of the whole thing, so that the customer receives a device that is 100 percent functional, without fear that in the case of repairing / replacing one component, another one will refuse to obey and the whole process will have to be started from the beginning, risking additional costs. Speaking of costs, it is worth adding that there is a significant price difference between the repair and full regeneration. The latter is much more expensive, but also gives much better results.

MYTH 2: THE PARTS / REGENERATED DEVICES ARE OF POOR QUALITY?

Nothing could be more wrong. If you planned your business in advance and anticipated that unforeseen things could happen on each episode, then you simply had to rely on a proven partner. One that guarantees the appropriate quality of service with its brand and reputation.

Automation Trader is such a partner. The company ensures that the remanufactured component has been treated by the manufacturer as a completely new part. What's more, in the case of reconditioned machines, it guarantees not only the repaired part, but the entire device.

MYTH 3: RENEWED = USED?

Here you should pay attention to where this regenerated item comes from and what it may mean. First, it should be assumed that a specific pool of components are those that are obtained from disassembly, and it is a significant percentage of all parts that are then remanufactured. The second shelf consists of parts that were stored in advance and when the customer needs them, it is no longer possible to receive them directly from the manufacturer. In such a system - especially those containing sensitive electronic components - are subjected to appropriate regeneration.

And finally, the third shelf, where we can find parts from warranty returns. As a rule, these are still functional components that can be given new life by renewing them.

MYTH 4: CANNOT BE SAVED ON REGENERATED PARTS?

If you live in fear that regeneration automatically means much poorer quality of a given component, then this point is for you. A new part is always a basic option that is considered in the context of a purchase - right. However, it's worth keeping a few important facts and figures at the back of your mind.

First, not all parts can be purchased as new. Many of them, especially in the case of these older machines, are no longer available for regular sale and then the room for maneuver becomes much smaller. Second, the prices of remanufactured products may be as much as 70 percent lower than those sold labeled "new", with no compromise in quality. Finally, the argument of an ecological nature, because buying a remanufactured part means less electro-waste. For those who adhere to a "green" philosophy of life, this can make a huge difference.

MYTH 5: DOES BUYING A REPAIRED PARTS A RISK?

Yes, but only when you enter into a business relationship with an uncertain partner. However, it is difficult to suspect all those who take their businesses seriously and carefully check the companies they work with. By making such a reaserch in the case of Automation Trader, you can quickly find out that there is no threat, but only a package of benefits.

Starting from an established position on the market, going through cooperation with giants of the industrial automation market, and ending with a one-year warranty, which is granted for the entire device. So if you put your money with a reliable partner, you will not only gain certainty and guarantee, but you can also make savings.

MYTH 6: THE AVAILABILITY OF RENEWED COMPONENTS IS LESS?

It is impossible to give an unambiguous answer at this point, because it all depends on what components we are talking about and in what time frame we are moving. If the parts are on sale, there is no problem with getting them. The stairs begin when one or the other component is no longer available from the manufacturer. Then you have to look to reliable partners who have previously stocked a certain number of parts or are able to source them from the aftermarket.

The availability of refurbished components is therefore conditioned by many variables, and therefore this question cannot be answered in an unambiguous way.

MYTH PARTIALLY CONFIRMED

These examples show that any concerns about the remanufactured industrial automation components are unfounded. So if anyone had any doubts, we hope that after reading this text they have been finally dispelled.
