Is the purchase of new spare parts profitable?

The correct selection of spare parts is not only due to the appropriate adaptation of the manufacturer and component model. There are issues that have an equally important impact on the right purchase. Continuing our article series related to the condition of the parts, we would like to discuss new parts option. A description of the option to buy used parts can be found HERE. As in the previous article, we will try to provide all useful information using the pluses and minuses of such a solution.

Why are new parts a good solution?

New components are a guarantee of product quality. The factory sealed products allows us to install the subassembly in an impeccable condition.

Where does the part hit us from?

Considering the provision of a trusted supplier, we can accurately determine the origin of the product. In the case of factory-wrapped parts, we are sure that they come from the manufacturer.

Will this part be an emergency?

Component reliability is always related to the durability of a given solution, manufacturer, operating conditions and the environment in which it is used. In the case of the new part, we can presume its durability for a similar period in which the previous device worked. Such data allows us to more efficiently dispose of stored parts.

Safety, efficiency, warranty.

The purchase of a new subassembly seems to be the best solution. The manufacturer rarely provides a defective product. There are damaged parties, however, these are not often events. An additional advantage is of course the warranty and warranty service offered by the supplier. Technical support of the manufacturer during warranty proceedings or servicing of machines is an asset that ensures the safety of maintenance.

What are the cons of obtaining new components?

As with any delivery option, the purchase of new parts has its downside. The first and fundamental problem in this case is often the price. New components can be more expensive than components used up to 90%. If the machines are new, and the parts available at almost every step, the differences are not so severe, however, in the case of outdated machine parks, we will encounter big differences in prices.

Accessibility problem.

Some manufacturers, especially in the case of older machine types, do not have the appropriate parts warehouse. The reluctance of support for older machines by the manufacturer forces users to replace them frequently. Some components are delivered only to order. The delivery of such a delivery may take up to several weeks.

Choosing the right delivery method is never easy. We hope that our article will help you make the decision. However, it is usually worth using the knowledge and experience of a trusted supplier. At Automation Trader, we always suggest the best way out. If in doubt, contact our experienced advisers and get a satisfactory offer.
