Technological developments and advances in artificial intelligence have accelerated strongly in recent years. The impact of these variables on our lives is already considerable, and all indications are that it will be much greater.

Are we facing a revolution?
People use new technologies in a variety of ways, from daily use of increasingly sophisticated equipment to the use of new AI applications that open up completely new possibilities.
However, progress also affects other areas. For if an individual can use artificial intelligence or robots to help him or her maintain the home, this is all the more true on a mass scale. More and more companies are undergoing digital transformation and seeing the benefits - the short-term ones, but also the long-term ones.
And at this point, many will probably recognise that this is the way to go, the direction we need to be heading. We ourselves at Automation Trader have repeatedly taken this theme on board and emphasised that there is no turning back from the path of innovation and development. But what does this mean for the labour market?
Completely new professions
Łukasz Bobryk, who represents platforms such as ‘Justjoin.it’ and ‘Rocket Jobs’, addressed this issue during a visit to our studio. In his opinion, the integration of man and machine will progress, and roles that were previously natural in many organisations will disappear.
- New roles and new professions will emerge that we may not even be aware of today. In fact, we do not even know today that they will be needed - said Bobryk.
According to the labour market specialist, especially in specialist terms, it will be necessary to adapt to the new realities. - I imagine that new professions will emerge. For example, we can expect someone like a robot shepherd - he added. - I think in about five years’ time that's how it might work. Everyone will have a robot assistant.
Who is the first to be fired?
He was echoed by Dawid Pałka of Petelgo. In his opinion, in view of the development of AI, programmers and employees from IT departments may soon have a big problem with their jobs. - For me, the IT industry and programmers in general are the first to be eliminated - he said in an interview in our studio.
- The programmer is expensive, the programmer is demanding and I'm waiting for solutions that will finally be low-code and no-code. When I talked about this a few years ago, everyone laughed at me. Well, because how can programmers be eliminated? And what's happening in the industry today shows quite emphatically that this change is happening. It used to be that there were two CVs for job advertisements, today there are 200 or 300 - he concluded.
Another Automation Trader guest, Dr Artur Pollak of APA Group, also shared an interesting observation on the subject. In his opinion, people should not be afraid of change, but should do their best to adapt properly to the new times. - A synergy between man and robot will be necessary, he said.
So what lies ahead? Who will have to reorganise themselves? Who will face job losses? Which professions are most at risk of being eliminated due to technological developments?
