- We have built some intelligent creation. Of course, I would put ‘intelligent’ in inverted commas, but nevertheless, I think that is what it is. And this creation is developing very dynamically, and we do not control this development,' said Paweł Sawicki, who was a guest on the MATTasking Podcast.

We have no control
We devote a lot of space in our pages to the issue of artificial intelligence. We invite guests who know their stuff and are active in the AI environment - not only in Poland, but also abroad. What they all have in common, however, is an agreement that the technological developments we have seen recently are unprecedented.
Our last guest was the aforementioned Paweł Sawicki of the Link Group, whose view is that rampant artificial intelligence is something over which humans have no control.
- We just don't know it. We have no control over what will emerge,' he stated. - When we learn with a neural network, we estimate that it will give us some result and it actually does. However, we do not know what this neural network is doing so exactly,' he added.
Will we be a tool in the hands of AI?
Sawicki compared the development of AI with what happens in the human brain, which, despite many years of research, still holds a lot of secrets. - We have created something over which we have no control. Something that is developing much more dynamically than we are. And this is a kind of threat to us, but also an opportunity.
So the big unknown is which way is it all going to go? - The question is which way this scales will tip. Will we be able to use it for our development as humanity, or will we become a tool in the hands of AI? - Sawicki concluded
