Robot operation safety

If the robots operating in the station violate the work zones of other robots or work in close contact with the machine, they must be protected against collision with another robot and station, software of the robot manufacturer (eg DCS, Inter operator check operator -FANUC Safe Convenient KUKA).

The robot's working areas that meet the functionality of gripping - taking or depositing parts should be protected against automatic or manual administration of parts to the occupied position. If the place of putting away the part is already occupied, the robot can not enter with the new detail for that position regardless of the operating mode. The robot needs to have signals connected to the controller controlling such zones. These signals (permits) can not come only from an external PLC. Such zones must be defined in the robot using the robot function, eg space fnct. FANUC. Safe operation KUKA.

Robot work zone

In the robot's work areas, the access hatches and the ignition locks should be installed allowing the robot to be entered into the service mode by means of an individual key. If there are several robots in the operation place, the key switches must be recognizable for the respective robot. All movements of the robot initiated by the operator or service must be limited to a safe speed of 250 mm / sec.

The grippers must be designed and constructed in such a way that the loss or change in the supply (e.g. pneumatic pressure) does not release the load. For this purpose, spring-loaded gripping systems can be used (grippers are opened by means of compressed air)

When the key is active and the guard door is open, compressed air is activated for all functions required to configure the robot, but also it should enable the control of stoppers, lifting units or the like.

For additional safety during operation of the gripper the robot's consent switch is used.
